Beginning Quilting
Taught by Janet Root
Learn machine patchwork and machine appliqué techniques in a 2-week course where you will work on a 3-block table runner or wall hanging. You will learn how to use tools, tips, & tricks that make quilting so much fun! Click to see the variations and the blocks up close.

This class is for anyone. If you are not a current Bernina owner, you will use one of our machines. If you are already own a Bernina, you will bring your own machine (820's & 830's optional). The classes need not be taken in any certain order.

Mini Quilting Retreat
Retreat is FULL!
AT Betty's Quilting etc.!
Betty's is holding a Mini Quilting Retreat right in our own classroom. Enjoy a weekend of companionship and quilting close to your own home. The fee includes Friday night pizza and pop. Lunches will be provided Saturday and Sunday. There will also be door prizes and demonstrations. Bring your own projects to finish and you can leave your machine and supplies overnight.
In addition to the book signing, Heidi will be teaching her jewelry techniques the following day.

"My Label" Tunic Fitting Class
Taught by Vicki Steffenhagen
This class will help you correct fitting issues unique to your body type using the tunic pattern from "My Label" software. You will construct a muslin tunic and then learn where the fitting problems are and what to do to correct them.

Heidi Pridemore Book Signing
Heidi Pridemore is coming all the way from Arizona to visit Betty's. Heidi is a former Rochesterian and a textile artist. She has written five books; Quilted Whimsy, Bold Batiks and Dazzling Designs for Leisure Arts. For C&T Publishing she has written Pop Up Paper Structures. Her newest book is Fabric Jewelry-Wrapped Braided and Sewn for Krause Publications.
In addition to the book signing, Heidi will be teaching her jewelry techniques the following day.

Fabric Jewelry
Wrapped Braided and Sewn
Taught by Heidi Pridemore of The Whimsical Workshop
Come and learn the various techniques covered in Heidi’s book, Fabric Jewelry-Wrapped, Braided and Sewn from Heidi herself! All the techniques are beginner level and no sewing or beading skills are necessary.
The class will cover the techniques using sewing and quilting skills. This includes rolled beads, covered buttons, micro-macramé, layered wool beads and simple 3-D beads along with tips and techniques on assembling necklaces and bracelets from these beads.

Machine Embroidery Techniques
Taught by Jan Ciravola
This a monthly class on different techniques for you embroidery machine owners. The brand of your machine does not matter but must be an embroidery machine. Bring your machine to this class along with basic sewing supplies. When you register, you will be put on the mailing list for monthly projects and supply lists.
March's class is an embroidery clock.
Don't forget to call and register if you plan to come!

Free Motion Machine Quilting
Taught by Janet Root
Learn to do free motion machine quilting for any purpose - filler patterns or feather wreaths! We'll begin with meander quilting and other free form filler patterns for which you do not need to mark your quilt. Then we'll progress to more difficult patterns for which you'll follow a line. We'll also practice two methods for quilting designs like feather wreaths, one marked and one not. This is a method class - no project will be completed. Intermediate Quilting

The perfect follow-up to our beginner course or
for anyone who wants to "go to the next level". 12 block
sampler quilt. Pattern designed by Barb Sackel. This is
a four hour course that meets seven times. You will be
introduced to the following methods:
- Class 1: review course on
squaring up.
- 2. putting blocks together that are
nontraditional.
- 3. learning square in the corner technique.
- 4. partial seam assembly.
- 5. learning to measure, cut, and sew
templates.
6. Fitting together non-traditional pieces
- 7. Sashing and border treatment.

Have a serger still in the box? Let's get it out! Get to know YOUR serger. Learn how to adjust the stitch length, width and the thread tensions. Understand the basic capabilities of your serger, including when to use the various stitches; 3 thread, 4 thread, rolled hem, flat lock, etc. Learn to use differential feed. Nothing beats hands-on practice with YOUR serger! Fabric kits included.

Nine Patch Pizzazz

Start with a beautiful large scale print or panel as a focus fabric. Then choose two or three companion fabrics to blend and contrast. Wool Purse

Make a change purse (or a place to keep all those punch cards we accumulate!) from recycled and fulled wool. Needle felt a design on it with Kool-Aid dyed wool yarn, and sew it together with a blanket stitch. Circle Play

Circles are cut from those fabrics and appliquéd onto simply pieced background squares. Then the squares are placed so that values are connected and flow through the quilt. Join us in exploring what your Bernina Embroidery Software V6 can do for you. We will start with the basics and expand the seemingly endless possibilities of this powerful updated software.
This class is also open to "observers"...those that are considering buying the software but want to "kick the tires" first.

Class Registration
- Advance registration is required for all classes & clubs.
- Payment is required at time of registration.
- Register in person or by phone
- In Person registration can be done at the store counter. A check or credit card number is required to secure your spot.
- Phone registrations require a credit card number to secure your spot.
- Refunds will only be given if class is cancelled by the teacher, if the student cancels 3 or more days before class, if the class is full and we can fill your spot from a waiting list, or at the teacher’s discretion.
- Cancellations due to lack of enrollment will be made 2 days before class.

- Basic sewing supplies are required for all machine sewing classes.
- Children under 14 are not allowed in any classes except children’s classes. Children 14-18 must be accompanied by and supervised by an adult taking the class.
